Your calendar πŸ“…

The screen you'll use most β€” views, adding bookings, walk-ins and breaks, moving appointments, and choosing what you see.

The calendar is where you'll spend most of your time in Styler. Open the side menu and click Calendar.

Choosing a view

Use the view dropdown at the top. There are five:

  • Day β€” one day, every staff member side by side. The default for most businesses.

  • 3 Day β€” today plus the next two. A good middle ground.

  • Week β€” the full week.

  • Month β€” an overview rather than a working view.

  • List Day β€” the day as a simple list rather than a grid.

πŸ’‘ List Day is the one people overlook. It's far easier to read on a phone than the grid, and it's the quickest way to check what's coming when you're not at the desk.

Choosing which staff you see

Use Select Calendar Staff to pick who appears. With a large team, showing everyone at once makes the day unreadable β€” narrow it to the people you're actually managing.

If you have more than one location, switch between them from the calendar header. You're always looking at one location at a time.

Calendar settings

Two settings change how the grid itself behaves:

  • First Day Of Week β€” whether your week starts Monday or Sunday.

  • Slot Duration β€” how finely the grid is divided. Shorter slots give you more precision; longer ones are easier to read.

πŸ‘€ This is how your calendar looks, not what customers can book. The intervals customers see are set by Slot Frequency in Settings β†’ Bookings β†’ Preferences β€” see booking preferences.

Adding to the calendar

The + Add button offers three things:

Booking

A normal appointment. Choose the customer, the service and tier, the staff member and the time.

Walk-in

Someone who's turned up without an appointment. Same screen, but set up for booking on the spot rather than in advance.

πŸ’‘ Put walk-ins through Styler rather than just doing the work. It takes a moment, but it keeps your reporting honest, records the payment properly, and β€” if they're new β€” starts a customer record you can market to later. A walk-in you don't record is a customer you can't get back.

Break

Time that isn't a booking β€” lunch, a meeting, admin. Blocks the time so customers can't book it.

πŸ‘€ Adding bookings and adding breaks are separate permissions, so you can let someone block out their own time without letting them create appointments.

Working with a booking

Click any booking to open it. From there you can:

  • See the customer, the services, the Total and what's been Paid.

  • Change its status β€” see booking statuses explained.

  • Edit Booking β€” change the services, time or staff member.

  • Checkout β€” take payment and complete it.

Moving and resizing appointments

You can drag a booking to a different time or a different staff member, and drag its edge to make it longer or shorter.

πŸ‘€ The customer is told. Changing a booking sends them a Booking Update email β€” so dragging something by five minutes to tidy your day does reach them. Worth knowing before you rearrange a whole afternoon.

πŸ’‘ Resizing changes the time the appointment occupies, not the price. If the work itself has changed, edit the booking and change the service or tier.

Recurring bookings

A repeating appointment can be edited two ways, and you'll be asked which:

  • Edit only this event β€” just this occurrence.

  • Edit recurring event β€” the whole series.

πŸ‘€ Read that prompt properly. Choosing the series when you meant one occurrence moves every future appointment, and there's no undo.

πŸ‘€ Booking statuses can't be changed on a recurring series β€” handle the individual occurrence instead.

FAQs

❓ A booking isn't showing on my calendar.

  • Check three things: are you on the right location, is that staff member selected in Select Calendar Staff, and is the booking cancelled? Cancelled bookings don't occupy the grid.

❓ Can I see everyone across all locations at once?

  • No β€” the calendar shows one location at a time. Switch between them from the header.

❓ Why can't I drag a booking to a particular staff member?

❓ What's the difference between a break and closing the day?

  • A break blocks time for one person. Closing affects everyone at that location β€” do that from Staff β†’ Working Hours or Settings β†’ Closed Dates.
