On Basic and Pro you change your plan yourself, from the Billing page β no emails, no waiting. This covers upgrading, downgrading, moving between monthly and annual billing, starting early from a free trial, and when each change actually happens.
π On one of our earlier plans β App & Booking, Booking or App? Your Billing page says "Your plan is managed by our team", and changes go through us: email [email protected].
The Your Plan card
Open Billing. The top card shows:
Plan β Basic or Pro.
Status β including how many days are left if you're on a free trial.
Price β with a breakdown of your plan and any additional staff.
Staff β how many of your staff seats are in use. See staff seats.
Next Billing Date β or First Billing Date while you're on a trial.
Billing Cycle β Monthly or Annual.
Underneath are the buttons for changing it: Upgrade to Pro or Downgrade to Basic, Switch to Annual Billing or Switch to Monthly Billing, and Cancel.
π The buttons only appear for people whose permission level can update billing details. Without it you can see your plan but not change it.
When changes happen
The short version: upgrading happens now, everything else waits.
Change | Takes effect | Charged today? |
Upgrade to Pro | Straight away | The one-off setup fee β unless it's waived, or you're on a free trial |
Downgrade to Basic | At the end of the period you've paid for | No, and no refund |
Switch monthly β annual | At the end of the period you've paid for | No |
Cancel | At the end of the period you've paid for | No, and no refund |
Start Now (free trial only) | Straight away | Yes β your first bill, plus the setup fee on Pro |
π One change at a time. Once a downgrade or a billing switch is scheduled, the upgrade, downgrade and switch buttons are greyed out with "A plan change is already scheduled."
π A scheduled change can't be undone from the Hub. If you schedule a downgrade or a switch and change your mind, email [email protected] before the date it's due β don't wait for it to happen. A cancellation is different: that one you can undo yourself.
Upgrading to Pro
Pro adds your own branded app on the App Store and Google Play, along with the wait list, products and Instagram integration. Click Upgrade to Pro on the Billing page β or on any Pro feature you open while you're on Basic.
The window shows what's included and what you'll pay. On an active plan the button reads Pay Β£β¦ & Upgrade: the one-off setup fee is charged there and then, Pro features unlock immediately, and work on your app starts straight away. It typically launches within 2β3 weeks.
Billed monthly: Pro's price applies from your next bill.
Billed annually: you're also charged the difference between Basic and Pro for the rest of your year, straight away.
On a free trial: nothing is charged today. The setup fee is taken when your subscription starts, and that's when your app build begins.
π‘ Have a referral or waiver code? Click Have a referral or waiver code? in the upgrade window and enter it under Referral or waiver code. A valid code waives the setup fee β but a minimum term then applies to your plan (see below).
You can follow your app's progress on the Billing page, in the Your Branded App card. See how long will it take for my app to be live?
Downgrading to Basic
Click Downgrade to Basic, check the date and your new price, then Schedule Downgrade.
You keep everything in Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for. From that date you lose Pro's features β and your branded app is removed from the App Store and Google Play.
π Think hardest about the app. Your customers' app is the part of this that's slowest to put back. If there's any doubt, speak to us before you schedule it rather than after.
Switching between monthly and annual
Click Switch to Annual Billing or Switch to Monthly Billing, then Confirm Switch. Annual billing is priced as ten months for twelve.
The switch happens at the end of your current billing period, and nothing is charged when you confirm it. So moving from annual to monthly takes effect when your annual term ends β not part-way through it.
Starting early from a free trial
While you're on a free trial, the plan card shows when it ends and what your first bill will be, with a Start Now button.
Start Now ends your trial today. Your first bill is taken immediately β plus the one-off setup fee on Pro, unless it's waived β and your billing date moves to today. On Pro, work on your app begins straight away.
π‘ Before charging you, Start Now matches your staff seats to the staff you've actually added, so your first bill is for your real team rather than the number you picked when you signed up.
If the setup fee payment doesn't go through, nothing changes and your trial carries on β check your card and try again.
The minimum term
If your Pro setup fee was waived β with a referral or waiver code, say β a 90-day minimum term applies.
It starts from your first subscription payment, not from sign-up. While you're still on a free trial, you can cancel at any time and you won't be charged.
While it runs, Downgrade to Basic and Cancel are greyed out, and the plan card shows the date it ends.
You can still add and remove staff, and switch between monthly and annual.
If a payment fails during the term, the term is paused until you're up to date again, which can extend it by up to 30 days.
The full detail is in our Partner Terms of Business.
FAQs
β How do I cancel?
From the same card β see can I cancel my subscription anytime?
β Why can't I see the buttons?
Either your permission level can't update billing details, or you're on one of our earlier plans, which we change for you. On a Pro feature page you'll see "Ask the account owner to upgrade your plan." for the same reason.
β Does adding staff change my plan?
Not your plan, but it can change your bill. Your first staff member is included and each additional active staff member is a billed seat β see staff seats.
β Where do I update my card or find an invoice?
Further down the same page β see billing: your plan, cards and reactivating.
