Selling products 🧴

Listing retail products in your app, tracking stock, and adding them at checkout.

Alongside the services you book, Styler can list the products you sell — retail shampoo, aftercare, gift items. They appear in your Business App and can be added when you check a customer out.

Open the side menu and click Products.

Adding a product

Click Add Product and fill in:

  • Product Name

  • Product Description — what it does and who it's for.

  • Product Volume/Size — 250ml, 100g, and so on.

  • Product Price

  • Product Stock Level — how many you have.

  • Visibility — whether it appears in your app.

💡 Volume matters more than you'd think. "Shampoo — £24" invites a price comparison the customer will lose interest in halfway through. "Shampoo 300ml — £24" lets them judge it against the supermarket bottle they'd otherwise buy.

Stock levels

Recording stock tells you what you actually have rather than what you think you have.

💡 Keep it honest or don't use it. A stock figure nobody updates is worse than none — it tells you a product is available when it left the shelf a fortnight ago. Update it when you take a delivery, and it stays useful.

Visibility

Visibility controls whether a product shows on your App Products Screen.

Turn it off for something you've run out of, sell only in person, or are still deciding on. The product stays in your list — it just isn't on display.

Selling at checkout

Products can be added to a booking when you check a customer out, so a service and the aftercare they buy go through as one transaction.

💡 This is where retail actually happens. The moment after a service, while someone's happy with the result, is the point they'll buy the product you used. Having it in the checkout means it takes seconds rather than a separate conversation at the till.

Who can manage products

Products have their own permissions — viewing, creating, updating and deleting are all separate. See adding staff accounts.

FAQs

Can customers buy products through the app without an appointment?

  • Products are listed in your app so customers can see what you stock. Selling happens through checkout, at your counter.

Does stock go down automatically when I sell one?

  • Treat the stock level as a figure you maintain rather than a live inventory system, and check it when you reorder.

Do product sales show in my reports?

  • Payments taken at checkout appear in your Sales figures — see using Reports.

Can I add photos?

  • Product images can be shown in your app — your gallery also lets you feature products on the home screen.
