Every booking keeps its own history. Open a booking and look for Booking Timeline β it shows how the appointment was made, what's happened to it since, and when the customer was contacted.
Most of the time you'll never need it. When you do β a customer insisting they cancelled, or nobody knowing who moved an appointment β it settles the question in seconds.
How the booking was made
The first entry tells you where it came from:
Booked via your booking widget β through your booking link or embedded widget.
Booked via your business app β through your own app.
Booked by you on the Styler Hub β someone on your team created it.
Booked by the Styler Team β created by us, usually during onboarding or data import.
It also shows the booking reference and the exact date and time it was created.
π‘ The booking reference is what to quote when contacting support. It identifies the appointment precisely, which saves a round of back-and-forth.
π‘ Over time, the split between widget, app and Hub tells you something useful β how much of your business is genuinely self-service versus staff keying in bookings from phone calls.
When reminders go out
The timeline shows both reminders, whether they're scheduled or already sent, with exact times.
Customers get two:
24 hours before the appointment.
1 hour before the appointment.
π Walk-ins don't get reminders. They're for an appointment happening now, so there's nothing to remind anyone about.
π A booking made inside those windows won't get the reminders it's missed. Book someone in for two hours' time and they'll get the one-hour reminder but not the 24-hour one.
π‘ This is the first thing to check when a customer says they weren't reminded. The timeline tells you whether the reminder was sent, and when β which usually resolves it immediately.
Changes since
Everything that happens afterwards is recorded, with who did it and when:
Amendments β times, services or staff changed.
Status changes.
Cancellations.
No-shows.
Completion.
π‘ This is why individual staff logins matter. With a shared account every change reads as the same person and the timeline tells you nothing. See adding staff accounts.
The rest of the booking
The same screen holds everything else about the appointment:
Customer, with contact number and email.
Their Notification Preferences and Marketing Preferences β handy before you contact them about something.
Service, Staff, Start Time, Duration and Location.
Status and Payments.
Booking Notes β anything relevant to this appointment specifically.
π Booking notes belong to the appointment; customer notes belong to the person. "Running late, arriving 10 minutes after" is a booking note. "Allergic to ammonia" belongs on their profile, where it'll be there next time β see the customer profile.
FAQs
β A customer says they cancelled and we never told them about a fee.
The timeline shows exactly when the cancellation happened and who made it. Compare that against your cancellation window.
β Can I edit or delete the timeline?
No β it's a record, not a note. That's precisely what makes it useful.
β Does the customer see it?
No. It's internal to your Hub.
