Your opening hours, and closing for a day πŸ•˜

You don't set opening hours in Styler β€” they're worked out from your staff's working hours. Here's how that works, and how to close for a day.

Styler has no "opening hours" box to fill in. Your opening hours are worked out automatically from the working hours of your staff.

For each of your locations, Styler takes everyone who is working that day and shows the earliest start time and the latest finish time. If nobody is working, the location shows as Closed.

So if Priya starts at 9am and Tom finishes at 7pm, you are shown as open 9am–7pm β€” even if neither of them is there for the whole stretch.

Changing your opening hours

Change your staff's working hours. That's the whole answer β€” there is nowhere else to do it.

Go to Staff β†’ Working Hours, pick the staff member, and edit their schedule. Your opening hours update to match straight away.

πŸ‘€ If your opening hours look wrong, it's almost always a staff schedule. The most common cause is a staff member whose schedule has quietly ended β€” a schedule with an end date in the past stops applying, and if that was your only early starter, your opening time jumps later.

Closing for a day β€” bank holidays, refurbishments, a week off

Don't edit everyone's working hours for a one-off. Use closed dates instead.

Go to Settings β†’ Closed Dates, then Add. Give it a name, a start date and an end date. The page shows one year at a time β€” use the arrows to move between years.

πŸ’‘ For blocking out shorter periods β€” one person's lunch, a single afternoon, a staff holiday β€” see breaks, closed days and holidays. Closed dates are the right tool when a whole location shuts.

A closed date covers a range, so a single entry handles a fortnight's shutdown. It applies to one location, so if you have several you'll need one entry per location.

πŸ’‘ Closed dates can also work in reverse. Each entry has a status of Closed or Open, and an Open entry forces the location open on days it would otherwise be shut. That's how you trade on a day your normal pattern excludes β€” a Boxing Day sale, say β€” without permanently changing anyone's schedule.

A closed date overrides everything below it. Nobody can be booked on a closed day, whatever their working hours say.

Changing one person's hours for one day

If it's just one staff member on one date β€” a late start for an appointment, an early finish β€” amend that day in their schedule rather than creating a closed date. Closed dates shut the whole location.

The Schedules (Legacy) page

Under Settings you'll find Schedules (Legacy). The name is accurate: it's carried over from the previous version of the Hub for partners who already relied on it.

If you're a newer partner, you don't need this page and shouldn't use it. Use staff working hours instead.

πŸ‘€ It is not harmless, though. This page sets which days of the week your business operates at all, and it sits above everything else. If you switch a day off here, nobody can be booked that day β€” regardless of staff working hours, and regardless of closed dates.

When your account was created, Styler set this up for you with all seven days enabled and no end date. That's why it's invisible in normal use, and why leaving it alone is the right move. If bookings have vanished for an entire day of the week and staff hours look correct, this page is the first place to check.

Both Closed Dates and Schedules (Legacy) need the dates permission. If you can't see them under Settings, ask an owner to update your role.

Where your opening hours show up

Your derived hours appear in your booking widget and, if you have one, on the home screen of your branded customer app.

πŸ‘€ Your opening hours are a display. They don't decide what's bookable on their own β€” that comes from each staff member's hours, their existing bookings, and how long the service takes. A customer can easily find that you're shown as open 9am–7pm but the only free slot is at 2pm.
